DJ Jayant

Jayant Luthra was born in New Delhi, where he started his Dj career at the age of 16. He obtained his first club residency in 1998. With his dynamic force and technical skills he was able to revive the true underground clubbing scene in the capital city. Jayant has established himself as one the best electronic acts in the country. His wide repertoire of music background includes Progressive house, breakbeats, Indian electronica, ambient/chill, techno/minimal and psychedelic trance. Due to his experience, he has become quite versatile in his music. Jayant has played with some of the best Dj’s and artists from all over the world. Such as Karsh Kale, Chebi Sabah, Talvin Singh, Namito, Alex flatner, Quicksilver, Midival PunditZ, and many more. In 2000, he collaborated with the Midival PunditZ and started playing for the infamous ‘Cyber Mehfil’. This collaboration was a catalyst in his career, not only as a dj, but as a music producer as well. With the help of the Punditz, Jayant was able to become more multitalented as an artist. He has won numerous dj mixing competitions like DMC, Times Music war of the Dj’s, and holds a record no. of titles from the year 1998-2002. In later 2002, he was the first Dj to perform live with a rock band, Orange Street, as a turntablist and was the electronic end of the band. During this period simultaneously worked with the fashion industry by composing music for some of the best designers. He also, for the past 8 years has been doing music for India Fashion week. On going work includes film scores and remixes for various international artist and film projects like L.A, a Hollywood production with Karsh kale, programming for Breathing underwater (Burn), and a few independent films and documentaries. He is currently working on his debut album.
