Thats how Ed Aka Edsel Fernandeswould describe his passion for music. At an early age Ed was introduced to music, he played the piano for a couple of years,then moved on to play the drums for the next four years. When Edsel started high school, he took up a part time job as an assistant sound engineer. He quickly picked up the tricks of the trade and was managing big events on his own. This was also where he got his first feel of dj'ing and there was no turning back.
With the knowledge and insight that Edsel acquired, he and a bunch of friends got together and started organising private parties and events. Edsel was well into the scene back home and was tied up with some of the biggest names in the underground culture.
After coming to Dubai, Edsel met up with Dj Dan who shared his dj'ing skills and musical influences with Edsel, who absorbed this new sound like a sponge.
Ed played alongside the likes ofFrank Lobber (Cocoon Recordings, Nummer records) and Jamie Jones( Freak N Chic, CrosstownRebels)the tech house Mistro.Apart From Playingfor ahost of club nights in Dubaihe also co-foundedSTATIC a night dedicated to electronic dance music.
His biggest influences Ritchi Hawtin( Minus), Ellen Allen(Bpitch Control) andMagda(Minus) who contibute to Ed's style of Tech House and a Blend Of minimal Tech and Techno.
